Novi, MI, September 8, 2026 – ENCO will unveil powerful new multilingual capabilities for its award-winning enCaption live captioning systems at IBC2026, led by the global debut of automatic language detection and captioning for live multilingual broadcasts and presentations. ENCO will also demonstrate fully integrated enTranslate functionality within its Linux-based enCaption Sierra platform for real-time, on-premises translation, while enSpeak makes its IBC debut as the newest layer in ENCO’s multilingual accessibility ecosystem. ENCO will exhibit at Stand 7.A34 in the Amsterdam RAI from September 11-14.
ENCO’s new multilingual captioning capability automatically detects changes in spoken language and generates captions in the appropriate language in real time, without requiring operators to manually switch languages or reconfigure the system. The technology supports any combination across 50 languages, creating a fluid captioning experience as different speakers and languages move in and out of a live program or presentation.
That brings important new flexibility to multilingual television and AV environments. A live news or sports program, for example, may move naturally between English and Spanish speakers, while an international panel discussion may include participants speaking French, German and other languages. enCaption automatically recognizes each language as it is spoken and captions the content in that same language, allowing the captioning workflow to follow the conversation without operator intervention.
The new capability will be available across enCaption solutions including enCaption Sierra, ENCO’s next-generation Linux-based captioning platform that is now shipping worldwide.
On-Premises Translation Comes to Sierra
ENCO is simultaneously expanding Sierra’s multilingual capabilities through full integration with enTranslate, its real-time translation engine. Sierra users can now translate live captions from one language into another directly within an on-premises environment, creating a tightly integrated captioning and translation workflow without requiring content to leave the facility. The new integration makes enTranslate a native extension of the Sierra workflow and gives broadcasters and AV organizations greater flexibility to serve multilingual audiences.

IBC visitors will also experience enSpeak, ENCO’s real-time voice translation engine, for the first time at the show. enSpeak extends the multilingual workflow from text into speech by converting translated text into natural-sounding, low-latency audio.
Together, enCaption, enTranslate and enSpeak can create an end-to-end accessibility workflow that moves from spoken content to captions, translated text and translated speech. For television workflows, enSpeak can deliver translated audio through secondary audio program channels, while streaming, live event and in-venue users can access text and voice translations from personal devices through enTranslate Mobile. enSpeak can be deployed in the cloud, on premises or in hybrid environments, and can work within ENCO’s ecosystem or as a standalone voice-to-voice and respeaking solution.
